only an hour old

a picture says a thousand words

This isn't the most flattering photo of me but this picture says so much. I had just been wheeled out of the operating theatre and was totally exhausted from the labour and lead up to the operation. Little Nate was not yet an hour old and seeing his Dad for the first time. Posted by Picasa

and baby makes three!

At 3.50 on the morning of June the 8th Nate Parker entered this world and our lives. Having initially visited the hospital three days earlier with contractions five minutes apart it was a long lead up to what we had hoped would be a natural delivery in water. I did manage to make it to the birthing pool but Nate just wasn't prepared to come of his own accord so with my exhaustion and pain tolerance levels reaching an all time low I was given an epidural (magic!) and an emergency caeserian section.

spring has sprung

It's amazing how much difference a few weeks can make in seasons. Woz and I left London and it's winter landscape early in April and returned only three weeks later to find the trees laden with blossom and sprouting fresh green leaves. This morning we saw the first of the ducklings on the canal.Posted by Picasa

take a deep breath ...

This afternoon Woz and I went along to our first antenatal class at the hospital. We were able to see the birthing centre and it was all very exciting in a naive first time pregnancy sort of way. We both feel completely at ease and really happy with the hospital we've chosen and the options we have. Only four weeks to go now!

may day canal cavalcade at little venice

Every May bank holiday Little Venice hosts a cavalcade for all the serious boaty types. Woz and I didn't take our boat but went along for a look. Posted by Picasa

em and the uncles

now that's commitment to friendship!

Just three days apart, couldn't have planned it better if we tried! It was so exciting to see Sharon and compare notes on our pregnancies and winge about our aches and pains. It's Sharon's second time around so Woz and I drilled her and Scott with questions! Who would have thought Sharon, when we were living together all those years ago that we would be pregnant at the same time? So exciting! The Leach Weatherhead combination didn't ever happen but perhaps it could skip a generation?Posted by Picasa

After much antcipation the wedding day arrived. The day went very smoothly and it was a great opportunity for everyone to get together. Here's a few shots taken by my uncle Greg of the big day.

no boys allowed

The boys tried to nuzzle their way in to the baby shower. It seems they were willing to put up with a houseful of girls oohing and ahhing at baby clothes for the opporunity to feast on Sharons cooking. Can't say I blame them. Posted by Picasa

em and terri at the baby shower

Although it was a whirlwind visit we managed to find an afternoon for all the girls to get together for a baby shower. I had a great time catching up with everyone and was blown away with the generosity of everyone with all the gifts Woz and I were given for the next little Parker.Posted by Picasa

not so trigger happy

After such a long time away it was great to fly back to Australia for a short visit and see everyone again. We took our video camera and SLR but barely took a shot. Here's a few some friends sent us. We'd love to get a copy of any more if anyone has any.
